PLEASE NOTE:

Apply by completing the official ‘Sponsorship Application Form’ and submit it to the Board Administrator at least four (4) weeks prior (within reason) to the event.

Rationale:

Rangitānetanga and uri development are key contributors to whānau, hapū and iwi progression. For this purpose, Rangitāne o Manawatū Settlement Trust allocates a limited amount of funds towards sponsorship annually.


Purpose:
To encourage, and recognise Rangitāne uri promoting Rangitānetanga, youth development programmes, Te Reo Māori events me ona tikanga and events that promote the wellbeing of Rangitāne, Whānau and Hapū.


The Application:

Applies to Sporting/Cultural or other events promoting Rangitānetanga within our rohe or at a national/international level. The applicants must adhere to the criteria for sponsorship and accept decisions made as final with no right of appeal. Applicants can only receive one allocation per financial year (1July to 30June of any year).


Criteria:

Applicants must: 

  • Be of Rangitāne descent and a registered beneficiary of the Rangitāne o Manawatū Settlement Trust database. 
  • Applications on behalf of children under 14 count as the applicants/guardians use of their own Sponsorship fund.
  • Apply by completing the official ‘Sponsorship Application Form’ and submit it to the Board Administrator at least four (4) weeks prior (within reason) to the event.
  • 50% or more of participants in any roopu/team applying for sponsorship funding MUST be registered uri o Rangitāne o Manawatū Settlement Trust.
  • Be selected to compete as an individual or team/roopu in a National or International event recognized by the sporting or cultural body of that event. 
  • Sponsorship applications will close 01 November and will re-open 1st of February. (applications will not be processed during close down.)

PLEASE NOTE: Individuals may only apply through EITHER Ngā Tini Whetu OR our Sponsorship Fund for a singular kaupapa, not through both funding pools. 

Individuals AND roopu may not apply for the same kaupapa through our Sponsorship Fund.


Once a sponsorship application has been approved for a roopu or singular kaupapa, individuals may not apply for Ngā Tini Whetu or Sponsorship funding for the same roopu or kaupapa, and vice versa (once an individual has been sponsored for an event participating in a particular roopu, that roopu may not be funded for the same kaupapa again).

An individual may only be the beneficiary of sponsorship funding once per 12 month period. This means if an individual receives sponsorship for themselves or a roopu they are participating in, any other roopu that individual participates in, may not receive sponsorship funding over the same 12 month period.

Please Note: Rangitāne o Manawatū Settlement Trust is unable to provide sponsorship for: Fundraisers, Reunions, Buildings and equipment, wages, Local & Regional school sporting events, School exchanges or trips, University and school fees and uniforms.
